The White Pass Cabin, designed in 2024, is a contemporary villa project located in Washington, USA, that reimagines mountain living through bold, geometric architecture and a deep respect for its natural site.
Architectural Concept & Form
Dual-Volume Geometry: The villa is composed of two primary A-frame structures connected by a central, flat-roofed monolithic volume.
A-Frame Redesign: The traditional cabin silhouette is updated with sharp, asymmetrical rooflines and extensive glazing to maximize views of the surrounding hills.
Stilted Elevation: One section of the villa is dramatically cantilevered and supported by V-shaped structural stilts, allowing it to "float" above the sloped terrain with minimal ecological impact.
Materials & Biophilic Design
Texture Contrast: The facade utilizes a sophisticated blend of vertical wood-slat cladding, textured grey concrete, and warm brick accents to create a rich, tactile aesthetic.
Integrated Nature: The design features a unique "living deck" where existing trees are preserved and integrated directly through the floor and roof structures.
Expansive Glazing: Floor-to-ceiling glass curtains blur the boundary between the interior living spaces and the lush, green landscape.
Site & Landscape
Harmonious Setting: Nestled on a rolling green hillside, the cabin is surrounded by dense forests and manicured meadows.
Outdoor Connectivity: Multi-level wooden terraces and glass-railed walkways provide panoramic vantage points and a seamless flow for outdoor living.
Our headquarters reflects our philosophy: transparency, structure, and connection with the environment.
